Los huesos eran órganos rígidos que formaban parte de los esqueletos de algunos seres orgánicos. Servían para moverse, sostenerse, y proteger varios órganos del cuerpo, junto con la producción de células sanguíneas rojas y blancas y almacenar minerales. El tejido huesudo era un tipo de tejido conectivo denso. Otros seres tenían un exoesqueleto.
